Which adhesive is recommended for ceramic or porcelain tiles?
Whether for renovation or new construction, choosing the right adhesive is essential when installing ceramic or porcelain tiles. The adhesive must ensure strong, lasting bonding to prevent tile movement or detachment, while withstanding weight, moisture, UV exposure, and temperature fluctuations over time. The professional favorite is BG40 – an improved cementitious adhesive ideal for indoor and outdoor use with porcelain, ceramic, and mosaic tiles. It offers exceptional bonding strength, high workability, and meets the requirements of the Israeli Standard Mark.
I want to upgrade the existing roof waterproofing—what should I do?
Start by identifying the type of waterproofing currently on the roof—bitumen sheets, tar, or an acrylic or polyurethane coating. Keep in mind that tar-based waterproofing requires frequent maintenance. Since it’s black, it absorbs a lot of heat, which can reduce its long-term effectiveness. To maintain performance, the tar layer should be regularly treated and whitened. Without proper upkeep, you risk leaks in winter and excessive heat buildup in summer.
For simple roof maintenance, a range of BG Bond’s acrylic sealing and whitening products can be used. One of the most recommended is BG GLU – a flexible, durable acrylic coating that bridges dynamic cracks and adds a light, UV-resistant finish to the roof. It is ideal for high-quality sealing of flat, asbestos, and tiled roofs, and is available in white, terracotta, red, and grey.
BG Reinforced Roof (+) - a flexible acrylic coating reinforced with fibres, for sealing and whitening concrete, bitumen, asphalt, asphalt sheet, wooden, sheet metal (unpainted) and asbestos sheet roofs.
The house walls are cracked – what can be done?
The weak points of any structure are typically its seams, corners, and cracks. In condominiums or shared buildings where cracks are hard to reach, the only option is to seal them from the outside using specialized rappelling services. For accessible cracks, sealing is recommended using bituminous pastes like BG Seal 282 or BG Readyflex 272, or cement-based sealants such as BG Flexseal 162 or BG Readytop 701.
What materials are recommended for sealing window openings?
Moisture issues around windows often result from poor sealing, especially along the seams between the frame and the wall. To prevent water ingress, it’s essential to properly seal the perimeter of the opening, particularly around bolts and joints. BG Bond offers a range of silicones and mastics designed for sealing openings, grooves, and cracks:
- BG SUPER – High-strength, neutral-cure silicone with advanced adhesion technology; non-staining and safe for use on metals.
- BG PU40 – Polyurethane mastic for sealing and filling joints, holes, and cracks.
- BG 103 – Neutral silicone for effective sealing and bonding, safe for use on metal surfaces.
- BG 203 – Highly flexible acrylic mastic for filling and sealing gaps.
What materials are recommended for addressing cracks and moisture issues in concrete structures?
Cracks that allow water to penetrate concrete can lead to corrosion of the reinforcement and compromise structural stability. It’s essential to treat these issues promptly with professional repair and sealing solutions that provide multidirectional protection against water pressure. BG Bond offers:
- BG Repaircrete 305 – A high-strength cementitious mortar for concrete repair and renewal.
- BG Armorseal 340 – A durable, cement-based mortar designed for long-lasting structural reinforcement and sealing.

What is the crystalline sealing technology and what are its most prominent advantages?
The crystalline sealing technology offers effective solutions for sealing concrete in new and existing structures. It is regarded as truly revolutionary in the world of sealing, replacing the conventional sealing technique. This sealing method bridges cracks in the concrete of up to 0.5 mm., withstands a hydrostatic pressure of up to 140 mm., provides the concrete with positive and negative sealing, reduces concrete cracking and shrinkage, withstands water-borne chemicals, protects the concrete and reinforcement iron even in hostile environments, and significantly cuts construction schedules.
BG Bond is the exclusive distributor of Kryton’s crystalline sealing products in Israel.
Kryton, a Canadian company, has developed a range of concrete additives that trigger a chemical reaction upon contact with water or moisture. This reaction forms long, needle-like crystals that penetrate and seal pores, capillaries, and micro-cracks within the concrete mass. When the concrete dries, the additives become dormant—reactivating automatically if moisture reappears, ensuring ongoing protection.
The products are suitable for use in new or existing structures - in shafts, foundations, basement/underground car park floors and walls, swimming pools, water reservoirs, various water installations and even in transport tunnels
